A product certificate is a document which proves that a device has undergone a certification process by an authorised third party to assess its conformity to the essential health and safety requisites set out in European regulations.<\/p>

For category II and III personal protective equipment\u2014such as goggles, visors, and face shields for protection against non-ionizing radiation, welding shields, visors for motorcycle and moped users, and eye protection devices against dust, gas, and liquids\u2014a mandatory EU type-examination certificate must be issued by a notified body like Certottica before being placed on the market.

To initiate the product certification process, the manufacturer must submit a duly completed application for EU type examination<\/strong> and the technical documentation<\/strong> in accordance with Annex III of Regulation (EU) 2016\/425.
