CERTIFICATION
EU certification
regulations
A product certificate is a document which proves that a device has undergone a certification process by an authorised third party to assess its conformity to the essential health and safety requisites set out in European regulations.
EU testing certificates issued by notified bodies such as Certottica are obligatory for category 2 and 3 eye and face protection devices – such as spectacles, goggles and face screens protecting from non-ionising radiation, welding screens, goggles for motorcycle and mopeds, dust, gas and liquid eye protection devices – before they can be released onto the market.
For further details on the paperwork needed for the type of certificate you require, consult the following regulation:
To set the product certification process in motion, manufacturers must fill in and submit an EC type-examination certificate application, together with the required technical documentation – in conformity with the requirements set out in Annex III of EU Regulation 2016/425 (including test reports of use in technical validation of the device) – relating to the device covered by the EC type-examination certificate application in accordance with the requirements of Annex V (module B) of EU Regulation 2016/425.
